Someone kindly requested this video so here it is, the vocal range of Zayn's latest album release, wooooo.

ABOUT THE TERMINOLOGY OF THIS VIDEO:
The purpose of this video is to showcase a good chunk of Zayn's studio vocals on his album to determine his vocal range. To do that, I've divided the video in three different sections: low notes in chest voice, high chest and/or mixed voice notes, and upper register (aka head voice, falsetto, whistle, etc). In each section the note is displayed at the center of the screen, and whenever the note is highlighted (changes color) is to indicate that the corresponding pitch is being hit at that exact same moment. Exclamation points (!) determine the highest or lowest note, depending on the section. I've made sure to filter some tracks so it's easier to listen to the note I'm pointing out, but in case it's buried under the main vocal line (or easiest to listen to/most recognizable), I've added captions right below the note to make it easier to find.
BACKGROUND: the highlighted note is being hit on a different vocal line, placed right under the main vocal line.
OCTAVE UNISON: the highlighted note is being hit in the same pitch as the main vocal line, but in a different octave.

MY THOUGHTS:
Here's one thing that you didn't know about me: Zayn was my most listened artist in Spotify of the decade, simply because I've spent months with Icarus Falls on repeat. You should probably tell, then, that it's hard for any other thing to take its place, and unsurprisingly this album doesn't. However, I do think it's a solid record and I love seeing him moving into other styles and experimenting with different production elements as Calamity, Better and Connection show. Vocally wise, this album has way less of the vocal-showcase feel that his last two previous records show. He's surprisingly restrained on falsetto range despite having two songs that heavily feature that register, and although he gives the audience a good taste of his lower chest voice it's nowhere as impressive as it was in Icarus Falls. Despite having the least range out of his solo records, I still think he does a great job in showing off his tone and strengths when it comes to his voice. Let's hope that this time he finally starts doing some live singing again.
Favorite: "Tightrope"
Least: "Connection"
(Also, for some reason, Windowsill has only a brief E3 that I didn't consider important enough to add to the video, so it's the only song of this album who didn't make it into the showcase. Interesting!)
